Our Story

It all started in 2017 when Baran, co-founder of FreshSens, met Pierre Janny, the inventor of the controlled atmosphere box technology, and became the Janny MT Türkiye Distributor. During his distributorship, he realized that the existing technology could be taken even further with a wireless sensor. While looking for the person who could develop this unique technology, he met Cem Ayyıldız, Ph.D., who would become his future co-founder. Cem was a distinguished engineer and academic with a comprehensive background in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Microelectronics, and Computer Engineering. Cem, who had been working on research and development projects and developing technologies for the country's defense industry for a long time, now wanted to do something useful for the world he would one day leave to his son, and Baran's idea was exactly what he had been waiting for.

To develop the technology, the duo took advantage of R&D support agencies in the country such as TAGEM, KOSGEB, and TÜBİTAK, and in 2022 MVP was ready. In 2023, FreshSens was accepted into the Startup Wise Guys Sustainability Accelerator program and received its first investment, which resulted in the official establishment of the company in the same year.

To this date, FreshSens aims to revolutionize the storage of fruits and vegetables and make it sustainable for the planet.
